I was born in Wales and raised in New Jersey–my family relocated to the United States when I was two years old–and I have lived here ever since. I married my husband John in 1988 and in the mid-1990s John and I both began a growing relationship with the Lord. We were fortunate enough to be discipled and remain active in a ministry that focuses on discipleship. John and I have been discipling individuals and leading groups for over 20 years.
In 2016, this “calling” began after seeing a friend who frequently travels overseas for missions, I had the thought, “I could go to Wales and do that.” This thought started a chain of events that included: John and I traveling to Wales for our 30th wedding anniversary in 2018. Then, later that year, I learned that our current church was establishing a network of churches in the UK and John said “I would be willing to sell the business and go over for a few years.” In 2019, we returned along with our children for an extended visit and to reconnect with our Welsh family. Then John’s business sold in the fall of 2019. 2020 was the year I started volunteering with the Further Faster Network, facilitating a monthly Zoom meeting with the Groups Directors from a growing number of churches around the UK.
We continued listening to God and, while waiting for the Globe to right itself following a global pandemic, I visited Wales twice in 2022 to continue to build relationships and search for a church to partner with. On my second trip, I visited Cardiff and met with the pastor of a church near the university who had been praying for someone to help lead these new believers. We had found our home base.
Our mission is threefold:
Acts 26:17, 18 "I am sending you to them to open their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive the forgiveness of sins and a place among those sanctified by faith in me"
1 Peter 5:23, Be shepherds of God's flock, who are under your care, serving as overseers- not because you must but because you are willing as God wants you to be not greedy for money but eager to serve; not lording it over them but by being examples to the flock.
Matthew 5:16 "Let your light shine before men that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
Hebrews 13:16: "And do not forget to do good and to share with others for such sacrifices, God is pleased."
We will exercise appropriate stewardship over the resources that God entrusts to us by putting them to work both for our day-to-day needs and for the greater good of the community in His name.
Come to Wales, we would love to host you and show you what God is up to!
