I was born in Wales and raised in New Jersey; my family relocated to the United States when I was two years old. In the mid-1990s, John and I both began a growing relationship with the Lord and were fortunate to be discipled, and remain active in a ministry that focuses on discipleship; We have been discipling individuals and leading groups for over 20 years.
In 2016, this calling began after I saw a friend who frequently traveled overseas for missions, and I thought, “I could go to Wales and do that.” This seed started a chain of events that began with John and I traveling to Wales for our 30th anniversary in 2018. Later that year, I learned that our current church was establishing a network of churches in the UK; that’s when John said “I would be willing to sell the business and go over for a few years.” We returned in 2019 with our younger children for an extended visit and to reconnect with our Welsh family. In 2020 I started volunteering with the Further Faster Network facilitating monthly Zoom meetings with Groups Directors from a growing number of churches around the UK.
Following God’s leading and continuing to take the “next step,” and while waiting for the globe to right itself following a global pandemic, I flew to Wales twice in 2022 to continue to build relationships and search for a church to partner with and live out a “ministry of availability” as we do here at home. On my second trip, I went to Cardiff and met with the pastor of a church near a university. This new church plant is thriving and baptizing many young men and women and he had been praying for someone to disciple these new believers. We found our home base.
The mission is threefold:
- To build a bridge to those who don’t know Jesus
Acts 26:17, 18 “I am sending you to them to open their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive the forgiveness of sins and a place among those sanctified by faith in me”
- To encourage discipleship among those who do know Jesus
1 Peter 5:2,3 Be shepherds of God’s flock, who are under your care, serving as overseers- not because you must but because you are willing as God wants you to be not greedy for money but eager to serve; not lording it over them but by being examples to the flock.
- To do good
Matthew 5:16 “Let your light shine before men that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Hebrews 13:16: “And do not forget to do good and to share with others for such sacrifices, God is pleased.”
How you can help
We will exercise appropriate stewardship over the resources that God entrusts to us by putting them to work both for our day-to-day needs and for the greater good of the community in His name.
- That the Lord would bless us, enlarge our territory, that He would keep His hand on us, and that He would keep us from harm (1 Chronicles 4:10).
- That we would be bold (Acts 4:29).
- That we would be strong and courageous (Joshua 1:9).
- That we would not grow weary of doing good (Gal 6:9).
Come to Wales, we would love to host you and show you what God is up to!
