We made it and it’s already been a month! On September 5th, with just the clothes on our backs (and 4 suitcases, 2 carry ons and 2 personal items) we arrived in Cardiff.
We were greeted by unseasonably warm weather and the friendly citizens of Wales, who notebly are from all over the world. We have moved into our beautiful apartment which overlooks the city center, and have begun settling into life.
God has not wasted any time and we have made several connections already. On our 2nd day I (Niki) met a woman interested in studying the Bible, we’ve had our 1st meeting and will meet biweekly. We’ve attended Citizen Church each Sunday and joined a couples group along with signing up to be student mentors, we are both hoping to be paired soon. John hiked Pen Y Fan, the tallest peak in South Wales, with members of our small group and others from Citizen Church. I’ve joined 2 knitting groups, one meets in a pub, the other in a knit shop in a local village. And we squeezed in a visit to Bath (so named for the Roman Baths) with a high school friend of mine visiting from the states.
We are excited beyond measure to see what God has in store with these relationships and the ones to come! Psalm 37: Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
