Santa Clarita, CA
Hey there! I’m Brandon Maddux and I was born and raised in a suburb just outside of Los Angeles. I have always felt that my call was to live as a missionary wherever I am and make-disciples, while also stirring up believers to do the same.
In 2020, I transitioned out of my role as the Kids Pastor at my home church, in order to more fully invest my time and energy in instigating a disciple-making movement here in the Los Angeles area. Instead of setting out to plant churches, we are setting out to make disciples, as Jesus commanded, and as new disciples are made, then new micro churches will form.
What does this look like? Where will we be investing our time?
I am currently in the process of clarifying some 90-day goals in order to really begin taking my first big steps forward in this direction. I will share those here once they have been clarified.
We obviously know that’s true for celebrity culture, but it’s also been historically true for Kingdom Impact. The Azusa Street Revival was a catalyst for numerous global church movements and millions of disciples made. CRU (Campus Crusades for Christ) was started at a University in Los Angeles and now has ministries in over 190 countries around the globe. The Dream Center was founded in Los Angeles in 1994 and as a result of its impact, more than 80 Dream Centers have been founded in other cities.
I want to start this movement here in Los Angeles. First and most importantly because I feel called to this area for this season. Second, because I can see the exponential impact that could happen if a disciple-making movement was started here. It could quickly impact not just this region, but cities and even nations around the globe.
My goal currently is to cover my expenses partially through people’s generosity and partially through flexible business. This will give me freedom to invest a significant amount of time and energy into ministry, while not being a burden on other believers, especially from the start.
