Born from the profound pain of losing our 18-year-old son, we are a ministry dedicated to helping those who have been knocked down by life and struggle to stand back up in a world that feels unfamiliar. Our mission is to guide the hurting from the vantage point of their pain to see the marvelous beauty of Christ and learn to trust Him again.
Todd & Melissa have been ministering to the hurting and bereaved, through their own pain, since 2020 through writing, podcasting, speaking, and facilitating online groups. Through her writing, Melissa ministers to parents who lost children to suicide at Christian Suicide Loss, which has almost 1000 followers.
Todd has been a preaching elder at Renaissance Church Montreal, Grace Church Verdun, and has filled the pulpits of a number of churches. He is a contributing author to the book, Held Safe Through The Storm, published by the Our Hearts Are Home ministry. His background as a writer and director of feature films, series, and commercials, having worked on projects for Disney, Neftlix, Warner Bros., HBO Max, and almost every major advertising agency, uniquely gifts him for this media ministry.
There is wisdom in the house of mourning that is not found in the house of feasting, as Ecclesiastes says (7:1-4). While the focus of our ministry is to help the hurting, we also invite the feasting church develop a language for grief and lament, to prepare them for the suffering they will eventually meet. Lament is so important to the exercise of our faith that God condemned the Israelites for its absence (Jeremiah 2:6-9).
Our current feature project is a documentary titled Surviving Child Loss, which we are producing "in public" by sharing our content, such as interviews, as we create it, so that it can benefit others before the final production is complete.
We speak, teach, write, and create media for a connected culture because, in the depths of pain, sometimes all you can do is press play.
