The Trigo Family

We are a Filipino-American family of six called to reach the people of Bohol, Philippines. We believe that Jesus changes everything and everyone. It’s through the word of God and the Holy Spirit that can bring hope, healing, freedom, change, salvation, grace, and mercy. We want to take this island for Jesus and to do this we know it takes the power of the Holy Spirit and the support from the body of Christ.

We are called to pastor, serve, and love this amazing group of people. To do life with them, to invest in them, and to build up those around us. Our heart desires to see Bohol on fire for Jesus. Making ourselves available to the church to reach more for the Kingdom of God is a high priority. Born-again believers are persecuted by the culture there and we hope to come alongside the local Christian churches and work side by side with the ministers to see more people’s hearts changed by the moving of the Holy Spirit.

We have seen how the poverty in Bohol brings much hopelessness, but we have also seen how this poverty has been used to bring a hunger for the God of hope that truly changes people from the inside out. We will meet the needs of the poor through compassion ministries by feeding, clothing, and caring for those in need. This allows us to build relationships and share God’s truth to those we have the privilege to serve on a personal level, as we meet physical needs.

We are big believers in discipleship. There is nothing like seeing someone young or old come to know Jesus, but too many times there is a lack of discipleship. We plan to build up a discipleship ministry for teens and young adults to grow in their faith and relationship with Jesus. To train them to use the gifts that God has given them to serve the local church and share the message of the gospel with anyone they come in contact with. Eventually, we plan to add Bible courses for those who are called into full-time ministry.

We know that all of these things are way beyond just our capabilities and without the power of the Holy Spirit that people’s hearts won’t change and we cannot do this. We ask that you would pray for us and with us. This is a God mandate for us and there is nothing that we can do without Him each step of the way. We also know that it takes the body of Christ to reach the ends of the earth. So we need a team of prayers and supporters to accomplish all that God has called us to step into. We thank you for your prayers, your generosity, and your partnership to take Jesus to this island!
