We live in a world where human trafficking has become a regular thing. People talk about how it’s a problem and that it needs to stop!

But how do we help these people? Well, that’s what I’m here to tell you!

Hello, my name is Alyse Edwards and I work for an organization called Operation for Freedom! What is Operation for Freedom you may ask? It is an organization that is dedicated to actively searching for vulnerable individuals so that we might offer them hope, assistance, and resources to help them out of the life they’re in.

My passion for missions started in High school when I attended a yearly trip to Panama over the summer. I had a love of serving people and bringing joy to them. I knew that my journey with missions wasn’t going to end there. During my 2nd year of college, I was given the opportunity to attend a trip with OPF, and my love for missions grew with my hatred for sex trafficking. However, the fear to answer my call to missions was strong for the next year. In that year I kept feeling this pull, but I didn’t want to believe that it was God calling me back. But as it would seem, it was. So I contacted my friend Caleb and asked him if I could shadow him on one of his upcoming trip to Las Vegas. He thought that it would be a great idea. As the months leading to the trip passed on, I hadn’t really heard anything from him and I began to grow discouraged. Maybe I wasn’t supposed to go on this trip? Maybe I’m not called to be a missionary? I remember the night when I had accepted that it wasn’t going to happen. I was sitting in my parents living room, and my mom asked me if I was still gonna go. I told her no, because I hadn’t heard anything from Caleb. Little did I know, that the next day when I woke up he would text me asking if I still wanted to go. I was so happy! I took that as God hearing me in my conversation the night before and having him say “you’re not getting out of this one that easy!”

So with that being said, I have a fire for this mission! This is an issue all over the world, and it needs to be stopped! With your help, I can work to make a difference with this amazing organization! No person should ever question their worth, and that is part of why human trafficking continues to grow! These men, women, and children don’t understand that they are worth so much more then they could ever comprehend! I want to bring value back into the hearts of the broken!
