Eight years ago my husband and I adopted 2 boys from the foster care system when my brother in law lost his parental
rights. We went in thinking "if we just love them enough it will heal all." I'm not saying we were wrong, but we definitely
had A LOT to learn about trauma.
I grew up in church with Jason and Danica Geesaman. After many years of them living in Manhattan, KS they returned
to their home city of Wichita. We were able to reconnect and Danica informed me that Jason was looking for an
administrative assistant for his non-profit ministry Hope Fostered. I was a stay at home mom at the time and this allowed
me to be fully present for my kids and use my skill set. I told Jason when I interviewed I would rather volunteer for him
the rest of my life than ever fundraise a budget for myself.
Well fast forward to October 2025 and our family had a lot happen in a short amount of time. During this season I just
felt God put it on my heart that some doors were being closed so I could take on my Hope Fostered roles full time.
Which means doing what I said I would never do - raising a salary for myself. So here we are <3
Administrative Assistant. Event Coordinator. Fundraising Coordinator. Marketing.
