We met in 2006 when Katie came to serve as a nurse in Adonai International Ministry's clinics in the highlands of rural Guatemala where Aaron and his family had been serving full-time since 1999. We were married in 2007 and have continued serving together full-time with AIM since then. Our five children, Anna, Ethan, Levi, Genesis, and Moses were born in Guatemala as well. We believe that true salvation, revelation and freedom can only be found in a surrendered relationship with Jesus, the Word of God, and the active movement of the Holy Spirit in each of our daily lives. Our heart's desire is that our lives and projects will bring glory to our Father and be a place where others can experience more of Him and the salvation, revelation and freedom He offers to each of His children.
*We are currently located in Coshocton, Ohio where Aaron is working on repairs for Adonai's aircraft, the Porter Pilatus. We will continue to work Stateside in partnership with MMS Aviation until the repairs are complete.
The valley we live in is located in the mountain highlands in the department of Quiché, one of the hardest hit areas during the Guatemalan civil war which ended in 1996. Almost all infrastructure was destroyed including roads, education and healthcare. Yet the families, these people who have become our neighbors and friends, were resilient. Farmers by nature, they have continued to grow crops along the steep mountainsides; attend the schools dotted throughout the villages and towns when their work at home allows them to; rebuild and work on local roads which allow access to the rest of the country on the other side of the high mountain ridges; and make the long treks necessary to get to a local medical facility for births, routine chronic and clinical care, and emergency services.
It has been an honor to live and serve in our valley in the areas of aviation, agriculture, medicine, nursing education, and worship. More specifically, Aaron oversees and performs maintenance and inspections on all of Adonai's aircraft; offers inspections and maintenance to other aviation ministries as time allows; manages dairy cows, hogs, cattle, and crops; and connects with and supports local farmers in their personal agricultural practices. Katie primarily homeschools their children now, but she supports Adonai's clinics and nursing school when possible, and also serves as a worship leader in Adonai's prayer room.
