We met in 2006 when Katie came to serve as a registered nurse in Adonai International Ministry's clinics in the highlands of rural Guatemala where Aaron and his family had been serving full-time since 1999. We were married in 2007 and continued to serve full-time with Adonai in Guatemala in the areas of aviation, agriculture, clinics, nursing education, and worship. In 2021, we transitioned to our current roles as Director of Maintenance for the aviation department (Aaron) and Stateside support staff (both of us). We are currently based in Coshocton, Ohio where Aaron works in partnership with MMS Aviation to perform maintenance and repairs on Adonai aircraft while also continuing to travel to Guatemala throughout the year to maintain the aircraft there as well. Katie also works as a recruiter & trainer for Encourage Foster Care, a faith-based foster care agency in Ohio. Our five children, Anna, Ethan, Levi, Genesis, and Moses were born in Guatemala and travel back there with us whenever possible.
We believe that salvation and true life can only be found in a surrendered relationship with Jesus, the Word of God, and the active movement of the Holy Spirit in each of our daily lives. Our heart's desire is that our lives and projects will bring glory to our Father and be a place where He draws all men unto Him!
The valley we serve is located in the mountain highlands in the department of Quiché, one of the hardest hit areas during the Guatemalan civil war which ended in 1996. Almost all infrastructure was destroyed including roads, education, and healthcare. While the area has advanced considerably during our years in Guatemala, aviation, medicine, and education continue to be invaluable tools to serve our community with the love of Jesus and the truth of the Gospel. The aircraft have allowed medical patients & teams to travel and administrative processes & general ministry work to be carried out by a 50 minute round trip flight in place of a 10-14 hour round trip drive by road. Adonai clinics and hospital provide outpatient & inpatient services, lab, x-ray, surgeries, and a prayer & worship chapel to support surrounding departments and the national medical system which serves a population of over 1 million people with a 120 bed hospital and clinic system. Adonai's nursing school provides opportunity for our local community to become trained in a field that serves their communities while also providing an income for them and supporting Adonai & other organizations' medical programs.
It has been an honor to live and continue to serve in our valley in the areas of aviation, medicine, nursing education, and worship!
